Møre og Romsdal Fylke, Hareid Kommune
Hareid municipality is found on the eastern side of Hareidlandet island. Hareid borders to Giske, Ulstein, Ørsta and Sula, and the village of Hareid is the administrative centre.

Melshornet is, although not the highest, the most dominating mountain top in Hareid. The view from the top (see picture below) is outstanding. All tops on Hareidlandet are quite easy to reach. The highest tops (except for Melshornet) are located along the Hareid - Ulstein border, on both sides of highway RV60 between Hareid and Ulsteinvik.
