Introduction

Why do I put a rock, 42m above sea level, on this web-site? Well, it *is* the highest point in Fedje kommune, and may be of interest to collectors.

Annoying, though, I didn't quite figure out which was the highest rock. And I would guess it is marked somehow. I covered all major rocks in the area, just to be on the safe side.

Access:

From Bergen, take E16/E39 north. Cross Nordhordalansdbrua bridge (30 min. drive from Bergen) and pay at the toll booth. Follow E39, drive over the Knarvik bridge. At Knarvik, exit onto highway 565 (Manger/Austrheim). Drive all the way to Austrheim centre, and follow signs towards Fedje - highway 568. Take the ferry from Sævrøy to Fedje.

From Fedje, follow the road south-bound. On a long flat stretch, just before the road descends, find a place to park.

The trail:

The rock should be somewhere on your left. I remember a wooden trail that took me out in the wetlands. This took me to a large rock which I believed to the highest point.

Notes:

Best thing is to ask around what to look for.
