After celebrating Marit Bjørgen's 2nd gold medal in the Nordic World Ski Championships, Anne and I went to Krøvelseidet to ski Melshornet. The weather was not the best, and the snow was wet and sticky. This was my 3rd trip up Melshornet - the 2nd along the prepared track from Krøvelseidet. Anne hadn't been to Melshornet before and looked forward to the views from the top.

The route from Krøvelseidet is quite easy, and we reached the summit 2:05pm - 1 hour after heading out. The summit was cold and windy, and we turned around after a few minutes. The descent wasn't anywhere as enjoyable as I hoped it would be. The light was flat, and the snow was sticky and unpredictable. We were back at the trailhead 2:35pm, and at least we got some exercise on this grey Saturday.
