When Anne came to Sunnmøre on this gorgeous Friday afternoon, the question about what kind of recreational activity we should go for, came up. Normally, we settle for something local on Fridays, but Skorpa island suddenly popped up in my head. I immediately called my friend Vidar - who took me (and my former dog Troll) to Skorpa in June 2006 - and asked him if he had any naval plans for the evening. Fortunately, he had, and Anne and me now had a ride to Skorpa! Yeah!
Vidar - captain of the boat
Vidar dropped us off at the Skorpa harbor and went fishing with his daughter. Anne and me headed out from the harbor at 6pm and had a nice walk up the mountain path. We reached the top of Skorpa 43 minutes later. The view was just as beautiful as I remembered it, and Anne seemed very glad to be up here...
On top of Skorpa
We didn't want Vidar and Helene to wait for us longer than necessary so we went back down after a 5-minute stay on top. We saw the wild goats on the west side of the island, and the herd seemed twice as big as back in 2006... We returned to the harbor 7:17pm and met with Vidar and Helene. We also got a good glimpse of some goats who chose the shore over the mountain...

What a good way to start the weekend! Many thanks to Vidar for taking us out to this beautiful island! I also hope he's there for me/us when there is opportunity for skiing this mountain!
