When I woke up on this Sunday morning, it was snowing. A bit later on, the sun was shining and then it was snowing again. I've spent enough time along the coastline to know what kind of day this would be; all-weather day!

I texted my friend Terje Øvrebø and he was up for a hike too. Terje and me visited Skolma back in 2009, via Skolmedalen. A most excellent hike, and it was definitely time to re-visit this fine coastal top.

My "plan" (as if I had anything to say in the matter...) was that it would be snowing upon our ascent, then clear up as we reached the top, and then it would start snowing again. Time would show...

We started out in sunshine, but it was snowing as we began our ascent up Ytreflødalen. It kept snowing until we reached 350m, and then it started to clear up. Yeah, but was it clearing up too soon?

The weather stayed good until we reached the top and we could celebrate a nice hike and a nice top! The 5,4km and 600+ vertical meter ascent took us 1h:08m, including stops for pictures.

So far, the weather had "behaved" according to "plan", and now that a massive shower was hitting on Hareidlandet, my prophecy was "complete".

The incoming shower was of the violent sort, and it felt best to put ski goggles on and to check if the GPS was in agreement of our descent route. By the time we found the route along the edge, the wind had started to decrease in speed.

2h:52m after leaving, we returned to Ytreflø. In sunshine, of course. Thanks to Terje for good company!
