The Stordal mountain region offers superb terrain for skiing and hiking, as well as fine ridge traverses. Although not the highest of the tops, Lauparen is probably the most characteristic peak of all, located where Stordal,  Ørskog and Vestnes meet. A couple of tops require scrambling/climbing on the easiest routes (Brudefølget, Trollvasstindan, Storbotnshornet). More info on this topic will follow as the tops get visited.

For being a renowned mountain region, Stordal has few tops, compared to the neighbouring kommuner such as Rauma, Norddal, Stranda and Sykkylven.

But of the 36 tops on the list to the left, 23 exceed 1300m elevation, and 29 exceed 1000m elevation.

The Stordal tops belong to three "logical" regions. 1) The mountain range south of the Stordal - Øverøye - Innfjorden valleys,  2) The mountain range north of the same valleys and 3) The area north of Stranda, on the other side of Storfjorden.

A few tops are unnamed on the maps. Names on this list have been given based on its location in comparison to the nearest prominent mountain. For instance, "Geitebottinden SE-1" means that the top is located southwest of Geitebottinden, and it is the first top in the southeast direction.
