Gunung Bratan

Introduction

Gunung Bratan is a small coastal top located on the northwest shore of Bali. A paved walkway takes you to the temple on the summit. If you stay at one of the hotels up in Permuteran, then you can hike this top to get a view of the local area.

Primary factor:

Gunung Bratan (129m, UTM 50 L 240606 9099469) has a primary factor of 119m towards the higher parent mountains to the south. The defining saddle (approx. 50 L 240621 9099061) is found between Bratan and Jalan Raya Gili Manuk road. Ref. Google Maps, the saddle is within the range 0-20m, interpolated to 10m.

Route 1: Jalan Raya Gili Manuk - Bratan

Difficulty : YDS Class 1 on road
Comments : Easy hike
Distance : 1km (the road up Bratan)
Time : 20 minutes
Starting Elev.: Approx. 10m
Vertical Gain : Approx. 120m (total)

You can see Bratan from anywhere in Permuteran. The main street is called Jalan Raya Gili Manuk. From this road, you can follow two roads northwest/northeast to the start of the paved walkway (steps in the beginning) that runs up Bratan. Follow this road 1km to the top. There is a temple on the top and another temple 0,25km north of the top.
