Elvershei
After a very nice hike to Holmanuten, Anne and me returned to our base-camp at Røldalsterrassen. Dinner time was still a couple of hours away, so I decided to go for a quick hike up to Elvershei. Based on the map, this should be an easy hike. I told Anne that I would try to make the hike within the hour. I followed the old Røldalsfjellet road up to Elversvatnet and parked there. I had never been up here before, and it was really beautiful up here. I left the car 6:30pm and headed straight towards the mountain, trying to memorize a few points for my return hike. After a while, I saw cairns, but they did not add significant value to my hike. I reached the summit cairn 7:04pm after a 1,7km hike and a 300 vertical meters gain. The view wasn't all that different from what we had on Holmanuten some hours earlier, so I went over to the other cairn, where I had a good view towards Røldalsterrassen. Then I retraced my steps down the mountain and was back at the car 7:22pm. The cabin was a 5-minute drive away, so I might miss by one-hour target by a couple of minutes. But who cares. It was a nice afternoon hike!
