The day after Petter Bjørstad and me skied Snøhornet in Ørsta/Volda, we drove to Haram to hike Gamlemsveten on foot. Having been to Gamlemsveten 3 times between 2006 and 2007, I didn't quite picture myself heading up the mountain service road from Søvik one more time, but since Petter wanted to visit this top...
It actually takes a bit of time and driving from Myrvåg to Søvik, and especially when it's snowing. But by 12pm (sharp), we were finally on our way upwards. There was never any doubt about leaving the skis back home. We even contacted the local Haram expert, to be 100% sure...
On the mountain road to Gamlemsveten

The hike up the mountain road was straightforward. Skis were never needed! As expected, we headed into thick fog after a while, and arrived on the summit 1:30pm (1,5 hours after heading out) with rather poor visibility.

The hike down was quick and we returned to the car 2:43pm. Fortunately, the snow on the road had melted so the drive home was easy. As I hadn't been to Haram in 3-4 years, it was nice to be back in the area again!
