I'm a ashamed to say so, but the reason it took me three months to publish this report, is that this was simply a dull hike, and there was really nothing interesting to write home about. I realize that I've become completely spoiled rotten, and being grounded for a month would only serve me right.

The date was sort of cool, though. 08.08.08. There was a certain schwung to it. I dug out the old hiking lists and concluded that I had been on Sukkertoppen 07.07.07, on Høgkubben 06.06.06, Ulriken 05.05.05, Ulriken 04.04.04, Ulriken 02.02.02 and Ulriken 01.01.01. What the h... had I been thinking back in 2003?

The factual events of the hike were that I left the trailhead 2:27pm, passed Heihornet 3:40pm and reached Medhornet 4:16pm. I was now in the fog (just like on my 2006 visit to Jolgrøhornet), and felt that I had earned some views from this beautiful region (the views were granted on my Nov 1 2008 ski-trip to Liahornet).

Well, the hike hadn't been completely dull. I knocked on the door at the farm. The owner yelled what? from the living room and never found it necessary to appear in person. From his living room, he let me know that I had come to the right place, that I could park behind the farm and follow the forest road upwards. It made me smile. Efficient, indeed..

On Medhornet, I decided to proceed towards Storhornet. I passed an interesting gap that is a bit more severe in winter. I reached the top of Storhornet 4:40pm, and got some nice views towards Stordalen valley. Rather than retracing my steps down the mountain, I chose to descend into Vadbotnen. I traversed this valley in the direction of Kopphornet, passed around Kopphornet and descended into Storgrova. I was back at the trailhead 6:28pm, 4 hours after heading out.
