Landfjellet(No Javascript) |
Landfjellet is a forest hill located above Tosenfjorden, and is a fine viewpoint to this fjord. The mountain is every now and then part of "Fjelltrimmen", a list of 10 mountains that hikers are encouraged to visit during the year. As such, the trail to the top is well marked in addition to be very accessible and easy to hike.
Landfjellet (1825-I: 364m, Ø.K: 363,2m) has a primary factor of 241m towards the higher Hongfjellet (481mm). The saddle is found east of Lake Hammarlivatnet, located between the two mountains. Ref. Økonomisk Kartverk (5m contour maps), you cross the 125m contours on the high route, but not 120m. The saddle height has been interpolated to 123m.
My GPS reported reported 363m over a 5-minute period on point 33 W 395305 7238598.

The trails described below are not necessarily the *easiest* trails to this mountain.

Highway RV76 - Landfjellet (summer/autumn)
|
|
From Skillvika junction outside Brønnøysund, follow highway RV76 eastbound. When you pass the "Barstad" sign, continue 1,5Km up a hill (approx. 48Km from Skillvika). The parking is on the left-hand side of the road, while the trail runs from the right-hand side of the road.
Locate a path that path that runs just east of a stream that come down the mountain. You cross the stream immediately and follow a marked trail up Landfjellet's northeast ridge. The path turns southbound and the high point is found on the middle of the plateau. The viewpoint cairn (and the visitor register) is found approx. 300m south of the high point.
The weather did not invite to anything higher to be visited today. Weather cleared up in the afternoon, and I decided to visit this top. I headed out from the parking 16:00PM and reached the top 16:25PM. I continued towards the viewpoint for better pictures of Tosenfjorden before I headed back down. I was back at the car 16:57PM.
