Melkeplassen v/Skytebanen - Løvstakken trail summer/autumn
|
Access: From the centre of Bergen, head out towards Laksevåg. Well before Laksevåg, exit left towards "Damsgård" (white sign). The exit has a traffic light. Follow the road up a very long hill, continue over the hill top, and 1,6Km after the traffic light, exit left on Kronegården. Follow this road for 700m and exit left onto a small gravel road. Continue up a short hill and you will find parking, next to a information bulletin board.
The trail: The trail begins on your left hand side, facing the mountain. Another gravel road runs further to your left. Don't go there. The trail begins as screen, then climbs moderatly steep up the forest. Don't go right at the first trail fork (early on). At the next trail fork, turn right. You should then have a view of Løvstakken; (the trail to the left runs up to Ramnefjellet). Soon after, you arrive a steep mountain section that must be scrambled. Only the start of the mountain side is moderatly cumbersome. This is the only point on the entire hike you have to figure out where to put your feet. This description probably sounds more scary than how you will perceive it. Many people go up and down this trail. Once above the steep section, you have a clear view of the long ridge leading up the summit. Continue north-east to get on the ridge, where you will join a trail coming from the north. Not too far from the summit you will also arrive another trail fork. Just keep heading straight ahead. |
