I was looking for a mountain to hike on this Friday evening, when I learned that Lena and Terje were also going for a hike in the Hareid region. We decided to join forces and go to Melshornet. Along came Donna - their dog, and after a nice hike up from Ulset, we arrived on top of Melshornet 8:25pm.

I had never been up here after dark before, but from now on - Melshornet my favorite after dark mountain top in the outer rim - a Star Wars term that in this context means Hareidlandet, Gurskøya, Leinøya, Bergsøya, Remøya, Runde and Nerlandsøya!

It was a quite cold and windy on top, and I knew that the pictures would not be all that great, but they still serve as good memories from this hike.

Ytre Søre Sunnmøre is not known for large amounts of snow, but the last two winters have been quite decent in that respect. So it felt a bit strange to know that I could have worn sneakers on this January hike...
