Nihusen is located between Lake Fyllingsvatnet and Skodjevika, approx. 25Km east of the city of Ålesund. The nearest village is Skodje, pronounced "Skøye" by the locals. The name "Nihusen" is a peculiar name, but I don't know where the name originates from.
Several routes lead to Nihusen, and from the south, you can follow forest roads high up in the forest. This web page will describe a route from Indreberg, just outside Skodje. Alternative routes will be described in the route description below.
Although Nihusen isn't very high, the views are tremendous. You'll get a 360 degree panorama that you won't forget very soon.
Nihusen (M711: 438m, Ø.K.: 438,38m, UTM 32 V 379908 6933980) has a primary factor of 340m towards the higher parent mountain Engsetfjellet (535m). The defining saddle (approx. UTM 32 V 381606 6933183) is found at Skodjereitane, on the east side of the north-south road going through this pass. Ref. Økonomisk Kartverk (5m contours), the saddle is within the range 100m-95m, interpolated to 98m. This does not conform to the M711 map which states that you do NOT cross the 100m contour. The most likely assumption is that the saddle is very close to 100m.

Access
From Ålesund, follow highway E39 northbound towards Åndalsnes. Approx. 30Km from Ålesund, turn left towards "Skodje". Continue approx. 3,5Km and up to your right you should have a road which forks; the road to left runs up to a farm, while the the road to the right is a forest road. More precisely, this junction is 100m after the 70Km zone outside Skodje, and 650m after you pass the "Stadion" sign in Skodje. This place is called Indreberg, but the name is not found on the map. Locate a place to park nearby.
The route
Follow the forest road upwards, to road end at approx. 390m. The summit is just ahead of you. Follow a path to the summit, marked by a trig. point.
Descend your ascent route, or follow a path southwest which leads to a forest road that runs all the way down to Berget. Either follow this forest road down to the road, or locate a path at approx. 190m elevation (when the forest road makes a sharp right turn) that provides a shortcut back to Indreberg.
