The day after climbing Romsdalshorn, I was more interested in working on the pictures, rather than go hiking. But the dog needs exercise, and I decided to cross the fjord and visit Roaldshornet. If I just followed the ski-lift, then a) I would be up in less than 1,5 hours (my pace) and be home "before tea", and b) chances were that the dog could walk up and down.
I hadn't taken the hot day into consideration, and soon after leaving the trailhead 13:26PM, the dog refused to walk any further. I put him in my back-pack, and headed upwards. I wasn't too excited about this walk. Following ski-lifts wasn't my favorite way of hiking, but at least, I would be home fairly early.
The hike was rather uneventful, as ski-lift routes normally are. I arrived the top 14:40PM. There were 6 other hikers on top, having hiked via Kleivdalsfjellet. I considered including this top on my return route, but decided to visit this top on another route, some other day. Thew views were quite hazy, and I knew that the pictures wouldn't be good. I decided to return on a clear day, on skis. I chatted a bit with the other hikers while Troll was enjoying lunch and water.
3 of the hikers (girls from Ålesund) were about to head down along the ski-lifts, and I joined them. Now I was guaranteed that Troll would walk all the way back to the trailhead. It was nice to have company on this kind of boring route, and we parted just above the trailhead. I left the summit 15:20PM and the dog (who did walk all the way down) and I were back at the car 16:15PM after having cleaned the dog in the river.
