Norwegian Mountains, Møre og RomsdalSkafjellet (573m), Dec 5 2010Back to the main Skafjellet page.
After a long period of cold weather, we got a snowfall yesterday. It wasn't a lot of snow that fell, but a ski-trip still seemed more logical than a hike. The choice fell on Skafjellet. Anne and me headed out from Bigset Vest in Hareidsdalen and followed a forest road up through the forest. Ice and naked rock scratched our skis just below the snow, so it was evident that the descent had to be done in a careful manner.
Above the forest, the skiing conditions weren't much better. In fact, skiing was a bit strenuous. It was only between 500 meters and the summit that we would get our 5 minutes of fun upon descent. The summit was cold and windy, and we didn't stay for long. This was my first ski-trip in the 2010-11 winter season, and it was nice to finally get started.
