Friday afternoon, and just as I was wrapping up work, I started to plan where to go for my afternoon walk. I took a look at the map, and all of the sudden I found that I had completely forgotten about Stavsetfjellet. In recent trip reports, I had "bragged" about completing the mountain region north of E39, from Ålesund to Vestnes. That was simply not true, as Stavsetfjellet hadn't been visited.

Daylight was fading, and it was raining as I shoved the dog into the car, heading for the Skodje region. While changing into hiking clothes, I took a look at the Norgesglasset interactive map on the internet, and tried to memorize any forest road I could see.

This 3-minute study was very valuable. I found the trailhead right away, and was able to do the ascent before it got too dark. We left the car 15:15PM, and the dog walked 2 minutes before I had to pick him up.I wasn't able to remember the map 100%, and got an 800m detour before getting onto the correct forest road. Fortunately, it was raining less now, and the walk was enjoyable.

I arrived point 203m 15:52PM - just to "check it out" - and as I had assumed, it was "nothing" there. Then I headed over to point 208m, which I arrived 16:05PM. It had turned quite dark by now, and I had to switch on the headlamp.

Point 208m was not marked in any way, and there was not much to see from up there. I took a very inconvenient shortcut back to the forest road, where Troll willingly began walking. By 16:30PM, the (very short) hike was over, and I concluded that my local region now REALLY had been completed.
