On this
Tuesday afternoon, I had the privilege of taking a 5-person group from Meny
Lerstad (Ålesund) up and down Trollråsa. My good friend Per had been up
and down Trollråsa with me earlier, and I had spoken with Beate a couple
of times. She was very much looking forward to do this route, and took
time off from work to be here. I didn't know Lillian, Therese and Steffen until we met at Atlanterhavsparken this afternoon.
I had
been curious about the group's tolerance for heights, but after
a few minutes along the path, this was no longer a concern. Knowing they could
handle themselves well in steep terrain, I could relax and just enjoy the hike.

This was also
quite a merry bunch, and receptive to my challenges, fun and
creativity motto. Challenges - as in small things that you rather
avoid than do, but which lift you up once you've done them. Like balancing on - or
crawling under a huge rock. The fun part doesn't need any elaboration,
other than that it's easy to forget about. Which brings us to creativity -
often a safe formula for fun and laughter. And Sukkertoppen is an excellent
place to practice on. The pictures on the bottom of this page should speak for
themselves...

For
the above reasons, it took us a good while to reach the top. But once up, the
Meny group threw in a surprise; picnic! Coffee, strawberries & yoghurt
and fruits and chocolate. Yum! Most excellent! The Lerstad team continues to
deliver excellence. And no, I don't get paid to write this. Per runs the best
store in the region.

We
agreed to descend Trollråsa, as that would be the shortest route to the
parking. Moreover, a Trollråsa descent is quite something else than the ascent.
And no less fun! I overheard Therese saying that she couldn't believe she came
up this way. He he...
I had a very
enjoyable afternoon with this group, and would be
quite happy to take them to Godøya, and its
off-trail terrain
that I know so well.
And perhaps a photo session on
Johan Skytt?
I'm confident they would like an outing like that. So until then... so long!
