Access

(all distances are approx. distances)

The nearest bigger town is Sogndal (has an airport). In short; from Sogndal, follow Dalavegen to Fretland. The longer version; Dalavegen begins just north of the Sogndalselva bridge. Turn right in the first junction, then follow the main road approx. 7km to the Fretland junction. Turn right and drive 1,1km up to Fretland. Find parking where appropriate, alternatively - ask for permission to park.

Note that there are several ways to get from RV5 (Sogndalsdalen) to Dalavegen.

The route

Ski northeast up to the Tråna cabin, then west->nortwest until you gain the ridge towards the Stokksete cabins, staying south of the spruce forest. From Stokksete, proceed north and head up the small valley between Tylderingen and Vardafjellet, before taking a northeast course towards Tylderingen summit, marked by a proper cairn.
